Who is Keaton?

Growing up in Fairfield, California, the Guitar was my first love. I started playing when I was 8 years old, taking private lessons from my teacher Rick Lowe who I took lessons from until I left for Belmont University in Nashville, TN. In high school I expanded my knowledge beginning to learn piano, vocals and drums. In college I studied Commercial music, where Guitar was my principle Insturnment. I also took advantage of the classes at belmont by taking college level lessons in Vocals, and Piano. My roomate Michael and I used to wake up and work on drums each morning making me a very well rounded musician. I have a dream of one day being a producer who writes for artists and working in a studio setting. As I have worked on myself for years I have found my calling to teach, loving every moment I get to spread my joy for music to the next generation.

My Music

Here’s some of my original compositions, and some session work I was involved in here in Nashville. I have been lucky enough to work with so many other talented musicians and had the opportunity to record in some of the historic studios in Nashville.

Students of all Ages

I’ve been teaching others and spreading my joy for music since I was my highschool’s Guitar club president, and continued into college. I have been teaching as my profession both privately and through the lessons program at Guitar Center for over a year now. Over the years I have taught a wide range of students ages 4-60. I am a true believer that it is never too early and never too late to get started on an Instrument.

Education Background

I studied Commercial Guitar with a minor in Music Business and Audio Production at Belmont University Receiving my degree in December Of 2021. It was there that I was fortunate enough to take lessons in Guitar, Vocals, and Piano. I was also able to develop my percussion/drum abilities alongside my roomate Michael, who helped teach me rudiments and stick control. I love music and so I have dedicated much of my life to the pursuit of greatness and a deeper understanding of each instrument and the craft as a whole. I believe it is my super power and that being a multi-insturnmentalist has gone on to reinforce concepts and opened the door to many new skills and techniques.

Educator and Artist

Teaching has made me appreciate music so much more. And it has given me the strength to continue diving deep into my pedagogy. While I am a teacher, I am also pursuing my own artistry and currently writing my own album, my future goals are to release and perform my originals, and one day be the guiding hand producing and helping the next generation of artists develop, refine and leave their mark on the world.

Teaching Songwriting and how to be creative is just as important of a skill as playing covers, we must learn from the past to develop the future. I truly enjoy helping others who want to learn how to create their unique voice discover the tools and knowledge to do so.

Keaton as a performer

Currently I am playing with my friends from college in a group called the “Cosmic Soul Searchers”. we have been together since 2023 and have shows throughout Nashville and some traveling dates in the future. I am also working with some friends on some more smoother and intimate settings playing venues around Nashville. I have always been a solo performer having down the Toootsie’s circuit in college, and doing writers nights at venues like, the Rusty Nail, Belcourt Bar taps to name a few. I often update and promote upcoming events on my instagram and other social media.

I believe music is a very personal endeavor and while we play and practice for ourselves as musicians, performing for others is a very rewarding feeling and that once we find our home on the stage there is no going back. In my lessons I will be encouraging performance and will work to create performance opportunities for my students.
